Mood Matters is a defining illustration of Dusty‘s musical world. Several years after his successful debut album “Keep It Raw,” the Jazz & Milk label founder brings together his favorite genres: Jazz, Funk, Soul, Afrobeat, Latin, percussive Beats and Deep House rhythms, while seeking a natural balance between acoustic, electronic and traditional sounds through the prism of a club-music oriented approach.

The title track meshes forward-driven house vibes with organic jazz instrumentation. Tracks like “It’s Time” or “Reascend” or bring together traditional live elements with electronic production, synthesizer sounds and heavy basslines.

The album features some of Munich’s finest musicians: members of the Bad Jazz Troupe, Jo Junghanss, and Beni Brachtel aka Bartellow. It also features collaborations with international artists, from the beautiful voice of Carla Vallet (France), to the amazing guitar rhythms of Kokolo’s Ray Lugo (NYC) and Flamenco musician El Pirata (Granada), to the rich production sounds of Sam Irl (Vienna), the hypnotic percussion of César Granados (Panamá City) and the sweeping horn sections of Todd Simon (Los Angeles).

Led by producer, engineer, and percussionist Amon (Turntables on the Hudson / Afrokinetic), the Analog Players Society (APS) is a collective effort spearheaded and produced by Amon himself, featuring a large ensemble cast of musicians, DJs, producers, and percussionists rooted at The Hook Studio. This digital DJ sampler features songs from APS’s forthcoming debut album, Hurricane Season In Brooklyn, out 9/25. The first track from the album, “Free,” is a driving horn fueled joint that’s hungrily swallowed the 90s Acid Jazz sound and spit it back out as something so much more live & funky. Si*Sé mark their much-anticipated return with an EP release of their infectious single “Go” from their forthcoming full-length album. “Go” is an upbeat track about the hastiness in seeking out love, and Si*Sé co-founder Cliff Cristofaro aka The Crystal Pharaoh remixes it into a stellar track with reverberating bounce that channels both Diplo and Prince. Liquid Agents showcase their diversity with two offerings: a thumping electro house mix, and a modern retro new wave mix. Thomas Blondet and Second Sky serve up a dreamy downtempo mix fit for lounging, and exclusive to this DJ promo is a final contribution by the elusive Mad Circus, who turns in a mashup of “Go” with a track by popular dubstep producer Rusko. Si*Sé will perform on the day of release June 5th in NYC at Rooftop 760 (in the Copacabana). More details here.
