The Child of Lov heads back to the future as both modern soul man and funk revivalist on his self-titled debut album out now on CD, vinyl, and digitally. It possesses a nostalgic reverence for early trailblazers like Little Richard, Otis Redding and James Brown as well as a penchant for the later neo soul of Dilla and D’Angelo. The Child of Lov certifies his scholarly underpinnings with a consummate cool that makes him feel like the rightful successor in the long line of musical heavyweights. The album was recorded at Damon Albarn‘s studio 13 in London with contributions from Albarn, Thundercat and DOOM and features artwork designed by The Child of Lov himself.

For the past two decades, DJ SUN has been contributing to the live soundtrack of Houston, Texas with an aural palette of funk, soul, jazz, disco, early hip-hop and trip-hop. Just recently he released his first full length album titled, One Hundred, which represents the culmination of all these years of work. British singer-songwriter Dido Armstrong returns with her fourth studio album in March 2013. This DJ promo package contains “Let Us Move On” ft. Kendrick Lamar, produced by Dido and her brother Rollo Armstrong with Jeff Bhasker. Up-and-coming UK rapper/producer Adian Coker releases his Lights Fantastic mixtape today in association with Karmaloop on his own indie label Bloom in June. The 9 tracks combine classic styled bangers, modern hits and contemporary R&B with the help of female vocalists. The project began two years ago with the creation of the opening track “Angels & Demons,” and Coker was still perfecting every aspect until it was mastered. Also included in this DJ promo are “Airs & Graces,” “Set Precedent,” “Gaza,” which premiered on Vibe.com, plus instrumental versions.

Robert Glasper’s breakout year heads into a busy autumn with the keyboardist announcing the October 9 release of Black Radio Recovered: The Remix EP. The 6-track EP, which was produced by Glasper, features remixes and previously unreleased tracks from his acclaimed album, Black Radio. The Robert Glasper Experiment covers the Little Dragon song “Twice,” remixed by ?uestlove. Also included is “Dillatude #2,” the Experiment’s tribute to the late, great hip hop producer J Dilla which is a previously unreleased track from the Black Radio sessions. Remixers also include Glasper himself, as well as 9th Wonder, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and Pete Rock, with additional contributions from rappers Black Milk and Phonte, The Roots band, and vocalist Solange Knowles.
