The Come On, Come On (Part II) - EP features all new remixes that take the unique track into completely different sonic territories. In their gorgeous downtempo remix, NYC indie rock legends Dean & Britta (formerly of Luna) re-imagine the song into an intimate electronic chill-out meets psychedelic rock ballad with beats, keys, and dreamy vocals by Britta Phillips and tripped-out space guitars by Dean Wareham (Galaxie 500). Scott Hardkiss himself delivers his own signature eclectic, uplifting club mix with both vocal and dub versions, an anthemic tribute to all the old school Hardkiss-heads that effortlessly shifts between breaks and 4/4 beats. The mythical Joaquin "Joe" Claussell (Body & Soul/ Sacred Rhythm) unleashes two brand new remixes that push the boundaries of dance music by combining fiery house & techno with experimental jazz in a new way that’s sure to bring the more adventurous dancefloors to their knees. Electro-funk master DJ Phunkae (Real Hype/ Kick It) brings it all back home and tips his hat to the funky 90’s US breaks style that first Scott made famous. It’s a seriously fun breakbeat jam, also available here in both vocal and instrumental versions. NOTE: WAV files are available by request.

Without a doubt one of the most important voices in 20th century music, proto-rap pioneer and - offensively but not inaccurately - the black Bob Dylan, Gil Scott-Heron steps into the next decade with his first album in thirteen years, I’m New Here. This digital DJ promo features the first single “Me And The Devil” and the blues hollering “New York Is Killing Me.” Recorded in New York over the past eighteen months, I’m New Here reveals the huge, banged-up heart that shows the only genuine motivation any activist or artist should have, a bone-deep, unsentimental love for humanity.

In 2002, Barrio Jazz Gang released its first CD Spectrum, venturing into Nu Jazz territory with an electronic flair. Their new project 2 is a work born from the union of producer/composer Roby Colella (founder of Funky Juice Records) and co-producer/composer and guitarist Steve Micarelli. This digital DJ promo includes “Jumpclub,” the most representative track and natural successor to the popular “Chok-A-Blok Avenue.” It evolves thematically and rhythmically, creating a truly fresh concept of jazz, danceable yet hypnotically fascinating. “Five Apple-Maples” is a tribute to the Paul Desmond jazz classic “Take Five” but projected into the Third Millenium with a tasty 5/4 electronic loop. “Sunday Show (Remix)” closes the album with the mainstream Nu Jazz is in full effect. Elvin Jones-style cymbal work and a four on the floor bass drum beat support veteran trumpet jazzer Eddie Henderson’s flights of fantasy. The Benson-flavored guitar and repetitive, mantra-like vocal phrasing seals the deal on this groovin’ track.

This week, 26-year-old keyboardist, vocalist, composer, and songwriter Salvador Santana makes his solo debut with the Keyboard City full-length. Having previously served up a remix EP for the title track, this digital DJ promo includes a smattering of remixes for the heavy funky jam, “Don’t Do It.” DJ Vadim thickens up the original beat for maximum head nod effect. Ashley Beedle and Cosmo of DarkStarr beef the track up with an in-your-face disco bass synth and cosmic tinges. Also opting to speed up the tempo, Michna turns in a quirky version with a growling bassline. And last but not least, the J-Boogie remix gives it a broken beat facelift, featuring horns and bongos that are sure to keep the dancefloor gyrating.

After half a decade, Silhouette Brown - the original production and songwriting team of Bembe Segue, Kaidi Tatham and Dego - return with their sophomore album aptly titled, two. This time they are joined by Philadelphia’s Lady Alma and delve into an array of subject matters. In this digital DJ promo, "Constant Questions" ponders on the notion of truth, while "Leave A Note" touches on suicide. Demus of 2 Banks of Four strips down the original "Constant Questions," transforming it with a brooding, moody bassline. These tracks are mere treats of what can be expected on two, where Dego and Kaidi push a warm, sumptuous, melody-driven groove in a way that only they know how.
