The Arch Cupcake is DJ/Writer/Producer Frederick Sargolini, one half of the seminal electronic duo, Ming+FS. A follow up to his highly acclaimed Wash Out EP, Box Of Bees (Patriarch Recordings) is Fred’s full-length debut as a solo artist; an album inspired by youthful memories of trips to Mexico, beat boxing in middle school hallways, and talent show DJ battles. In TAC’s words, “I attempted to create an album that sounds like a novel. The goal was to create a sonic narrative of childhood memories.” This DJ sampler brings you four of the best tracks from Box Of Bees, along with some DJ-friendly extras.

The infamous Tricky revisits his ghetto roots on his forthcoming album Knowle West Boy, led by the rocking new 12-inch single “Council Estate”; as Tricky says, the tracks is “the first single I’ve ever done with just me on vocals. I couldn’t whisper that song. I had to come out of myself and do a loud, screaming vocal. I wanted to be a proper frontman on that one.” Along with the radio edit of “Council Estate” (which features additional production and mixing by Switch), this digital DJ promo brings you the stomping South Rakkas Crew remix & instrumental, a hype uptempo remix by Drums Of Death, a destructive tech-house remix from Toddla T, as well as a digital-exclusive glitch-rock remix by Kotchy. Also including the jumping rude-bwoy album cut “Baligaga”, this digital DJ promo is the perfect (re)introduction to everyone’s favorite Knowle West Boy.
