Steadily gaining more and more kudos on an international level, Switchstance Recordings presents its next installment of dope beats and advanced sounds. Where We Live is the new EP rolling out of the studio from Protassov, beatsmith and psychedelist from the dark heart of the German Ruhr area.
Three all-new tracks make up the EP. Starting with “Where We Live (Part II),” it digs right into slow-motion spheres, while providing a mellow jazz vibe. The deep and tender “A New Beginning (Reloaded)” presents Protassov’s well-known day-dreamy side, and the EP closes strong with the straight-marching, head-nodding and catchy “Love Is Easy.” On Where We Live, Protassov takes another step forward with his beat mystifications.

Munich’s Jazz & Milk Recordings has come up with another dancefloor smasher in Jazz & Milk Breaks Compilation Series Vol 2 of its compilation series. Brilliant international producers and musicians from Barcelona, London, Tokyo, New York, Warsaw, San Sebastian and Munich joined the project and left their individual and often exotic trademarks on this genre-breaking compilation. Taking in fusions of Jazz, Latin, Afro and Funk with eclectic productions, this is all designed for forward thinking dancefloors and minds.
This DJ sampler brings you four of the best tracks on the compilation. Labelhead and Jazz & Milk Breaks compiler Dusty remixed the 13-piece afro-funk group, The Boogoos, creating an electrifying mixture of vintage live sounds and heavy beats. Panama-born percussion maestro César Granados and his latin-jazz combo come up with a breathtaking version of Dizzie Gillespie’s classic tune “Manteca.” Envee opens up the floor with his outstanding jazz dance version of Pinnawela’s tune “You Can Dance.” And Brooklyn’s trusted Greenwood Rhythm Coalition keep the wheels spinning with “Cotonou Caravan.”
