The Bravest Man In The Universe is Bobby Womack‘s first album of original material in eighteen years. Co-produced by Damon Albarn and XL Recordings’ Richard Russell, all eleven tracks are co-written by the three, plus Bobby’s longtime songwriting partner Harold Payne, except for the radically rearranged spirituals “Deep River” and “Jubilee (Don’t Let Nobody Turn You Around).” This digital DJ promo features the title track, plus a more uptempo version of the album’s “Please Forgive My Heart,” which will be an iTunes bonus track. Bobby’s performance at Giant Step’s annual SummerStage event in Central Park, NYC with Willis Earl Beal has been postponed due to a recent and successful surgery. Details on the new date will be announced soon.
