Legendary R&B/soul recording artist Sarah Dash, famous as a member of the iconic 70s female chart-topping trio Labelle and for her work with artists like the Rolling Stones and Laura Nyro, is brandishing her first official new dance music single in more than twenty years. “Hold On (He’ll Be Right There)” (out May 1) will be a one-off release on the new indie label Superlatude. Written and produced by Jason King and Toronto-based producer Gavin Bradley, the song captures the pulse-pounding sound of retro 90s gospel house music, reframing Dash’s powerful and soulful vocals in a cutting-edge dancefloor setting. This DJ promo also features a stirring gospel remix by DJ Spen, the legendary pioneering producer of spiritual house music associated with The Basement Boys and The Jasper Street Company.

This summer, Dash will continue to perform her one-woman show Sarah Dash: One Woman at NY’s Laurie Beechman Theater on May 18, June 9, July 13.
