Stream tracks above (skip with arrows) Out now on Splintered Tree Records, the Diggin’ Pony EP features the incredibly powerful and soulful vocal talents of San Francisco’s Chrys-Anthony and the inimitable production of Oakland’s Drunken Monkey. The title track explodes with Chrys-Anthony’s signature primal scream and Jeff “DJ F” Straw’s saxophone blasts. Following hot on its heels is another song fit for the radio and mass appeal, “When I Think About You,” with its driving beats and basslines, provided by IBU600. “July” and “Another Chime and Place” take it much deeper, drawing from the underground sounds that have inspired both of these musicians for years. Mr. D lends his unique lead-vocals to “Spoonful of Honey.” This digital DJ promo comes complete with two remixes for the dance floor from Neal Stewart and the mysterious Bu Kar. |

Pretty good stuff. Diggin Diggin’ Pony” (Bu Kar Warehouse Throwback Monkey Mix).
‘ “Diggin’ Pony” (Bu Kar Warehouse Throwback Monkey Mix)’ is slammin’ and ‘ “Another Chime and Place” ‘ has that hypnotic feel that will catch us all eventually in ‘Another Chime – I mean Time – and place’…..
Only #4 and #5 didn’t do much for me but all other tracks are a delicious surprise, a treat to listen and to dance to, thank you.

“Diggin’ Pony” (Bu Kar Warehouse Throwback Monkey Mix) is the golden ticket
Chrys-Anthony, dynamic vocalist. He brings Lee Fields to mind a little bit. “When I Think About You” is quite the earworm and I’ve been warming up to “July” as well. That Bu Kar remix of “Diggin’ Pony” is lovely, great dancefloor pick.
