Australian power group Wolfmother are back with their inimitable proto-heavy metal on the sophomore album, Cosmic Egg. This digital DJ promo contains the lead single, "New Moon Rising," a thumping, ripping slice of optimistic future-blues, complete with textbook flaming Wolfmother guitar and joyously bludgeoning drums. On remix duties, London’s Henry "Riton" concocts a pair of sophisticated rubs with quirky electronic melodies. Portland’s indie dance duo YACHT fix-up synth-y, mutant disco with punk-funk handclaps, and Gothenburg’s Fontän rework the single with psychedelic effects and stylings. Having just finished a journey across the USA, hammering out dates in support of The Killers, Wolfmother promise a thrilling rush of good times direct to the soul with their new album that’s sure to be inescapable very, very soon.
