Following the success of their last studio album, Amplify (which debuted at number one on Billboard’s Reggae Chart last October), progressive reggae band John Brown’s Body now returns with Re-Amplify, featuring six remixes of songs from Amplify along with a brand new, previously unreleased JBB live recording. This digital DJ promo brings you all seven tracks from the album, featuring brilliant production from a diverse group of top notch remixers, including Tommie Sunshine, Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo (of Gym Class Heroes fame), GoldieLocks, Dubmatix, Blue King Brown, and Wrongtom. With artists like these ‘pon the controls, Re-Amplify takes the “Future Roots” sound of John Brown’s Body even further into new directions.

for me, it’s about tracks 1, 2 and 5. digging both mixes of “The Gold,” but especially Wrongtom’s version. and the remix of “give yourself over” is fun. gotta drop it at just the right time, though…

Track 1 and 3 are great. Overall, great remixes, totally broad spectrum of genres represented here, too.

Ahhhh! It’s all about the Dubmatix mix (#2) excellent, sophisticated roots reggae. I’m feeling #6 — and that’s working for the dubstep audiences. Solid remix collection overall.
